About me

A Bit About Me

For nearly 50 years I have studied and worked in psychology. I have had a lifelong passion for psychology and using my knowledge to support others to understand themselves and make changes in their lives.

I have worked as a psychotherapist in private practice and in primary care for 14 years. Throughout this time, I engaged in ongoing supervision and continuing professional development and have experienced and studied many approaches to psychotherapy including my core training in Gestalt Psychotherapy, but also Psychodynamic approaches, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Transactional Analysis, Person Centred approaches and Slow therapy (working outdoors).

I have nearly 25 years of offering supervision to trainees and colleagues both within my work as a Psychotherapist, and as an Educational Psychologist.

In 2009 I decided to retrain as an Educational Psychologist. I have worked for three different local authorities. I was seconded to the University of Sheffield and was a Field Work Tutor on the Doctorate course in Child and Educational Psychology.

I have been a Senior Educational Psychologist with responsibility for a small team of colleagues. I have offered supervision to all members of my team as well as being part of the Senior Leadership Team with responsibility for the strategic management of the Educational Psychology Service.
